The KARNEOL string set produces well-balanced velvety tones, giving warmth and texture to your sound. They have a synthetic core, and normally require three days to achieve tuning stability and optimum tone quality.
Metal core as well as Synthetic core A strings are available. The sound of the synthetic A string matches the set perfectly. However aluminium or hydronalium wound A strings are less durable than those with a metal core so we wanted to give players a choice.
To avoid damaging strings it is essential that Warchal viola string sizes are chosen according to the vibrating string length of your instrument and not its body length. You can measure the vibrating string length as shown in the diagram. We find that the majority of violas have a vibrating string length that suits the small sized strings.
