The Amber cello set combines powerful projection with the depth, warmth and rich tonal complexity of synthetic-core strings.

Developed for cellists seeking an alternative to conventional steel strings, Amber offers a distinctive tonal character with exceptional possibilities for shaping the sound. Its rich texture responds to subtle changes in bow speed and contact point, allowing players to explore a wide range of tonal colours while preserving their instrument’s individual character.

While synthetic-core strings require a different playing approach and a longer break-in period than steel strings, they reward players with a warm, complex and highly expressive sound.

Two A String Options

The Amber cello set is available with either a synthetic-core or metal-core A string.

The synthetic-core A offers tonal consistency with the rest of the set, while the metal-core A provides a more durable alternative for players who prefer the handling characteristics of a steel string.

Please note: As of October 2026, the Amber metal-core cello A string is supplied in a straight version, without the previous helix winding.

Amber cello strings also feature lower tension than conventional steel-core strings, making them a suitable option for more delicate instruments.
