“I’m known for advocating synthetic core strings, so why develop a metal core A?

The challenge lies in creating true harmony between the E string — which must be metal — and the lower strings. A tonal break is almost always noticeable between the E and A. Inspired by the Russian school, I remembered how many violinists preferred the tonal shift to occur between the A and D instead.

Over time, I saw that some violins simply didn’t respond well to synthetic or gut A strings. That’s why I set out to create a metal A string with the soul and warmth of gut, but the power and reliability of steel.

It took time — more than I expected — but the result is a metal core A string with an unmatched response, seamless register transition, and a beautifully warm tone, even under pressure. I believe you’ll truly enjoy it.”
